lemur diet and treats

This site is about the ruffed lemur (Varecia variegata), a primate with thick fur that lives in the forest. They usually give birth to twins and then leave the babies alone in the nest while they go looking for food. This is an unusual behavior for lemurs. On this site you will find more information about keeping ruffed lemurs in captivity.

"Tracy Williams takes care of most of the African animals at their zoo, but she is specialized in primates. Her favorites are the lemurs. They found out that a wrong diet with to much iron leads to a disease called Hemosiderosis."
